Are you thinking of travelling to Vilnius? Well why wouldn’t you?! The Lithuanian capital is the second largest city in the Baltic States, and is famed for its Old Town architecture, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.

With numerous sights to see, shops to visit and bars and restaurants to spend the evenings in, Vilnius is a great place to visit for a long weekend.

And the other amazing thing about Vilnius? It’s cheap too – both for getting there, and once you’re in the city.

We partnered with Neil at Backpacks & Bunkbeds to put this theory to the test, as he took part in The Money Shop £200 Challenge. Proving that travel doesn’t have to be expensive, he set off to Vilnius armed with £200 to cover him for the weekend (his accommodation costs were included in this). You can find out more about the challenge itself here.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for some budget holiday inspiration and are considering the beauty that is Vilnius (or perhaps you’ve already booked your flights!), then why not download this free guide? It’s jam-packed full of useful information about the Lithuanian capital including:

  • Accommodation to stay in
  • Free things to do in the city
  • Best places to eat and drink
  • How much to budget for Vilnius
